Peak fitting algorithm
Predecessor of HyperLab's state-of-the-art algorithm was HYPERMET, which was developed for mainframes by the Naval Research Laboratory in the 1970's (see article in NRL Memorandum Report 3198, January 1976; G.W. Phillips and K.W. Marlow: Program HYPERMET for Automatic Analysis of Gamma-Ray Spectra from Germanium Detectors). A later variant was Hypermet-PC, which was a DOS-based clone for PCs.
HyperLab's automatic deconvolution is completely rewritten from scratch, retaining the original concepts and eliminating many constraints, limitations and faulty algorithms.
